For an event planner, golf events can be a fun change of pace from their usual business of weddings and conferences. Corporate golf events are a common occurrence, with some organizations even scheduling these events on an annual basis. Golf events are a great way to get key decision makers together for the day, and they also make an excellent fund raising venue for nonprofits and charity groups.
A golf event can be challenging to put together, but there are some tips that can help event planners successfully pull one off. In terms of planning time required, a window of 3 to six months is usually required. You should identify the maximum number of attendees at the event, and not overbook the event. Keep in mind that an 18 hole course can handle up to 144 players, but if you book it up to this maximum limit there are sure to be long delays for everyone.
